Have any of you older ones used CBD cream, oil or tincture for osteo arthritis and othe pain?? I'm 77 years young, but 45 years of heavy construction work took its toll on my body. I've done everything short of surgery on my lower back pain a pinched nerve in L 5 and others areas of pain. I've tried cortisone with steroid injections into the facets on the spine, acupuncture with electrical stimulation, physical therapy and opioids. I need to know the strength of what you have used and what works best for you. I have tried 1000 mg cream without much success on my neck arthritis, and I'm waiting on an order of 1500 mg of tincture to try next under the tongue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Larry W.

I swear by the tincture for the arthritis in my hands. Up to 70% relief when taken daily for me. The tincture I buy is 3000 mg, just a bigger bottle (60 ml) it is a little cheaper that way. The company I use (CHEEF Botanicals) regularly has a 2 for one sale, bringing the price down considerably. I take one ml in the morning and 1 ml in the evening. It did take about 5 weeks of using it before I saw the most relief. I will say it doesn't do much for my back pain, recently found out I have spinal stenosis and I am exploring options for that. Good luck!

If opioids don't help cbd won't either, don't waste your money

I’m only 45 but I’ve been in construction over 30 years at this point. I use a tincture and it definitely helps with general soreness. I also have started doing yoga 2 twice a day since about 6 months ago when I slipped a disk. The yoga has helped more than any other thing I’ve done. Original injury was 26 years ago and would flair up regularly. Yoga has changed my life. It’s just stretching and and stretch can be modified to fit your capabilities. Look into it. If it’s possible give it a try.

Absolutely agree with you Sinker Rig. They're trying to take advantage of your desperation and vulnerability. It may work for a little arthritis pain in your hands and fingers, but for a damaged disc in your spine or stenosis? We're talking major pain here. About as bad as it can get. You have to either mechanically relieve the pressure on the nerve or kill the nerve altogether. I've had both done. I feel much better.

Did you have surgery spirit? My wife has spinal stenosis and is terrified with the thought of surgery

Opioids worked but I've been addicted to them in the late 60s early 70s and again when I was diagnosed with the pinched nerve in 2010 and I have a high tolerance of pain meds and take too much and the help goes away. And withdrawal is hell getting off the pills. If one pill was ok 3 was better!!! Not going that route again. I've also read that CBD helps with migraine headaches that I've had since my late teens and tried pretty much everything the Drs have prescribed. I'm taking Amitriptaline daily for the headaches which helps somewhat but is not the answer.

I have a medical Marijuana card and I've tried it all.....the drops, vapes, flower, and gummies. The tincture is processed, not pure, vapes almost killed my lungs, flower not much better, gummies are the safe way for me, but they won't kill severe pain. They work great for my anxiety and restless leg syndrome

Seems like different things help different people. Sept 2020 I had a couple of injections in my lower back that for the most part fixed my pain. It had gone from my lower back and then spread down my left cheek, left thigh, whole left knee, and down to the top of my foot. The injections stopped the pain going down my left leg. Another thing that helped me is walking. I try to walk at least a 1/2 mile at the Y on M,W, and F. i think this helps strengthen the muscles to support my midsection and ease the lower back pain. I have tried the CBD deodorant style stick and under the tongue oil and it didn't work regardless of all the wonderful testimonials. The stick CBD did help localized pain in arm and shoulder, but not for the nerve issues in lower back. I have gone under the knife in 1975 and 77 where they took out 2 discs each time and now have 5 vertebrae fused together in my neck which really saved me but made it hard for me competing in my sport.

Is your wife's stenosis in her lumbar region or higher up? Mine is in my L5 and around there. They have found that if the pain is exacerbated by walking or standing, but relieved by sitting (mine was) that they can insert a spring loaded device (called a Vertiflex) which holds the spine in the same position as when you sit. Allows you to get up and move around much much more comfortably. I had that done. With excellent results. The procedure is really simple, day surgery, takes about 3 or 4 hours in a surgery center, most of that time is prep and a brief recovery period, then you go home. Little bitty incision, maybe 2 or 3 inches. If your wife sounds like a candidate for that, she should talk to her doc about it.

Ask her if she's more comfortable walking/standing or sitting down. That was the key for me. The device just keeps the pressure off the nerve when the discs compress, which happens when you stand up. Sitting decompresses the discs.
Lower back is where my pain is also. Don't know how old your wife is (I'm 73) but tell her it ain't gonna get better on it's own. I let my back go til I woke up one morning and could not get out of bed - the pain was that bad. Had my wife bring me a cane and I hobbled to the toilet, then back to prone. That was the start of about 15 months of pain for me. I'm talkin disabling pain. There are many things they can do to reduce her misery, short of surgery. The place I go to is called Spine and Nerve Diagnostic Center - and that's their schtick, mitigating and helping folks deal with their pain. She should look for such a place, if she hasn't already found one.

* Just a quick note.
If you have a medical card, you can not buy any guns anymore.
