I know nothing, but I'm watching closely. Planning to go next month if everything works out.

fish and game usually plants a lot of fish in october, some pretty large ones in an effort to clear out the pens at the hatchery . . .
i am catch and release and use barbless hooks, but still like the idea of catching some trout . . .

Is there a special HAT required to succeed when fishing there or something? Wind makes you need new hats?

would suggest a shorter-than-usual pole,fly or not, . . . lots of overhanging branches in many areas . . .

The proper HAT can prevent eye injuries it appears.

Juniper have needle type dried up branches usually on the underside that will ruin an eye here in Oregon. Its in many Western States of US. Western Juniper smells good burns well. Adds flavor to GIN. Good cover for wildlife and hunters.

I am happy to hear you are taking the wearing a hat as serious. There dozens of reasons to have proper head cover and then finally there is protection from the Sun. I have spent enough to buy a good boat just on surgeries to handle skin cancer lesions on my head, face, and arms. Do not go uncovered! Just Sayin...RJS

You do not want to know what I would use that hat for.

Considering it is Electromagnetic Radiation of the complete light spectrum. Radiation is just that. The source of ALL energy on earth should be a wake up call about protecting body from it.

Hat creek used to be one of my favorite places to fish. We stayed at Hat Creek RV Park and camp ground in Old Station. They stock the creek heavily in the park and I caught an 18" rainbow on a 5 wt rod drifting a imitation salmon egg because they ignored all my other flies. Use to be, because I moved to TN.

Don't wear a MAGA hat. It will scare the fish.
