Picked up this reel for 10.00 at a yard sale. Might clean it up this winter and get it ready to use again for panfish or something. . Does anyone use them still?

Sometimes I'll just try it out when I'm done restoring it, then it goes on the shelf. Not called knuckle busters for nothing. Amazing craftsmanship considering the machinery the had back in the day Suspect there was plenty of hand fitting to get them to function properly.

Not top shelf, but a work horse.

Chrome pitting makes these hard to restore.

The look cool, but don't really become one of your favorite. There are millions of these so they are not very collectable, just really neat to look at. Pair it up with an all metal rod. Nice wall hanger for a theme of fishing.

I would be afraid of it falling overboard. To the right person I am sure you could definitely get much more than 10 bucks.

If you can not locate a metal rod you could probably use old radio or CB Radio metal antennas brass and solder to make a nice classic wall hanger for sure. I always thought it would be neat to frame story near an old rod on a wall. True fishing story would be cool but could also have a real nice fictional fishing story about the rod as well.

You should only pay $3 a piece or $2 in a lot.
You can get them even cheaper.
I must have leftover 25-30 of them. How many do you want at $10? Lol

Ya, 1 is enough thanks bud. I do have a steel rod from my dad I'll probably put it on and hang it in the shop.

It's really cool that way.
If it could only tell the stories behind it.
