Hi- new member here, glad to be a part of the community.
I will be at Folly Beach, South Carolina from 9/25 through 10/4 2021. The pier is closed for renovations and I’m looking for other fishing spots to explore. I have a cast net for bait and am mainly looking for flounder, pompano, trout and redfish. Will be doing daily surf fishing as well as kayaking the Folly river. Any tips or location suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Not into sport fishing, I just need protein in the freezer for winter and to put food on the table for the family. Thanks in advance for any tips to improve my success!

Welcome to the stage rmw, i can't help you, but many local SC folks on here should be back from dinner soon. I was fishing just north of you just a few weeks ago in NC in the Pamlico and you should be doing as well as i did. Tight Lines and good luck.

For your surf fishing take a left at the light on the main Street and go all the way to the end of the road. Hit the beach and go left to the light house inlet. There are some rocks there. Fish that surf. Now the river is wide open . Either way is good for Reds, Flounder and trout. Get on the bank on the other side of the boat landing and fish the mouth of the creaks and Oyster banks. I can tell you better places but in a kayak it might be to far for you . The whiting are on the bottom in about 12 to 20 ft everywhere. Good luck and enjoy your stay.

Great advice, thank you! I was thinking the inlet near the lighthouse might be a good bet.

Gordon, you were absolutely correct. Walked a little farther down to where the marsh opened up into some pools and cast for fresh bait. Red Drum and Bluefish were both insanely fun and plentiful. Renting a boat from the Charleston marina tomorrow and will get out to where those Trout and Whiting are.
Also caught several nice Flounder off the Folly City Park pier on top of those oyster beds. Another week and half left here so I'll keep at it. So far the fishing has been good. Thanks again for the tip.
