Ha guys I got out yesterday with the wife and had a great time catching cat’s. Going to fry some up tonight. Have my own plan but I wanted some expert opinions.

I will make a post on my trip tonight after I get the kids to bed.

GO Browns!
Thanks
J

Yes indeed! That Felton run with the spin move in the 3rd was a thing of beauty! Go Browns! I fry cats southern style with cornmeal instead of bread crumbs or panko after an egg and buttermilk wash with a dash of tabasco. Next week Browns play the Bears and looks like Fields might start. The conflict!🤪

I went to OSU but I bleed orange and brown. Born and raised in Cleveland. No conflict here. Hope Fields does well in his next game this week he’s meat!

I’m certainly no expert but I really like Hank Shaws beer battered fish recipe. Check him out on “honest food.net”. He’s got exceptional recipes for fish and game.

Serve with a few squirts of lemon juice, cole slaw, hush puppies, hot-buttered corn on the cob, a tall glass of lemonade...yum!

zatarains is always good!!! We do +/- 20# fish fries with zatarains and perch, walleye, catfish or any combo of them.

At home I like to do my own mix:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup corn meal
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon of black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, hot pepper flakes

If you want a puffier batter add 1 teaspoon of baking powder. 1/2 cup of this mix will do 1/2# of catfish.
