Braid or straight mono for ultralight reel?

I have a new cheap lightweight setup (bass pro microlite spinning combo, 6' rod,1000ml reel), and wondering what ppl think for line. I'm thinking either:

10# or 15# braid to a 4 or 6lb mono leader

Straight 6lb mono (cause I have like 2000 yd on hand)

Thoughts? Advice?

OK the rod is rated at 6 LB so that's what you should use or risk breaking the rod. IMO anyway. The reel is like 4 LB Drag max but the rod will flex when it is going out.

Buy some limp 4lb. test mono like Trilene XL. Low memory important cuz of small diameter spool.

2lb mono. That’s pretty much all I use for UL.
