How Do You Fish High Water in A Stream

Need some advice on fishing high water in a stream. This is the only place to fish around here and I will only be here a few days . It’s actually blown out. But don’t have any other choice .

Try to find breaks in the current, behind obstacles, back eddies, anywhere the fish can get away from the strongest currents. Good luck!

High and clear, or high and murky? When visibility is good the same bait/lures as for lower water levels will do, maybe with bait a touch more weight to get near the bottom. Murky water means you need highly visible lures or to keep your bait down where the fish can find it.

Hi water that’s not muddy but mearly stained can be fished .
Use heavier lures that can compensate for the hi water , fish seams especially bank seams .
Trout will not fight current , new seams form on hi water so pay attention , also near bank riffs that contain rocky uneven bottom where they can dodge the current !
Also note clearer water generally found near banks while stained water tends to flow mid stream where current is strongest !
Fish hi water correctly it often produces big fish !
