Kayak fishing: Deeper Start fish finder question

I have a Deeper Start castable fish finder. I have been pretty successful just tying it to my kayak and dragging it to use as a depth and fish finder. One thing I haven't been able to figure out though, in the app I have downloaded my local maps but they don't have pre-loaded depth data and everything I have tried won't save my depth onto the maps when I paddle around. Does anyone know of that's possible? I was hoping to map out a few ice fishing spots.

If your cell phone has gps and you use Google Map, use Google map to save waypoints. You don't have to be on a road for it to work.
