Made it here yesterday. 10 hour drive so we left at 5:00 Friday after work and made it to WVa and Virginia border, and found a hotel.
Finished it off Saturday and got here yesterday in time for 4:00 check in.

Room is sweet. They gave us an upgrade.
First impression. Touristy. Very much so. And very expensive. And the mattress is really disappointing.
Other than that. Very nice.
More exploring today . Gotta find a bar to watch the Browns game this afternoon.
Pic is from our balcony. I’ll be checking out that pier this morning

Nice view Ben, I haven't been there in 40yrs, but it was cheaper back then.
Tight Lines if you're fishing!

Great time of year to be there! Crowds are down but still warm enough to go in the water. Weather rest of the week looks good too. Next weekend however is the Neptune Festival and crowds are back. Make sure to check out Rudee's inlet for charters and also a couple terrific restaurants.

Yea we dropped $100 total in a couple hours at 2 different places
First place half dozen oysters and some crab dip and 4 beers $60 and second place 3 grilled scallops we split and 2 margaritas $46

BUT I got a Yeti 65 full of Miller light and whatever stuff the wife drinks
Vodka and lemonade, a weeks supply of bloody Mary’s and a bottle of fireball.

Have fun Ben! My buddy watched the Browns game a few years back while he was at Virginia Beach I believe he hooked up with the Tidewater group. Here is some contact info for VA beach Browns Backers.

Checked out that pier.
Not much goin on. Chinese guy had a nice cooler of smallish blue crabs . Another girl had a big crab
Saw a couple fish I’m guessing some kind of perch being caught and one guy had a double

Wanted to buy a rod from the bait shop something fierce
Wife wasn’t leaning that way.

Live to fight another day

Ben thinks like all Browns fans who didn’t want to loose the house for the last 20+ years. Go Browns! I’m not taking your bet either. Hope it’s a great game! I will bet we see you in the playoffs no matter the outcome today. Both teams are loaded with talent and are well coached.

Ben, Congrats on being a Browns fan. That's gotta be really tough . I used to follow NFL closely but lost interest over the years, but didn't see much good going on with your team since forever. Liked watching JIM Brown back in the day. In my youth, in the 50's & 60's they were a good team. Since then, tough luck, Ben. You are to be admired for your loyalty. I Attended a game in Cleveland back in the late 70's while on business there, had a newly made acquaintance invite me to see em play Patriots there. Good game and excellent time. The wind off of Lake Erie was a bit much, awfully chilly evening. Didn't fish Erie, but went down to shoreline to check it out. Blew my mind, being my 1st exposure to a Great Lake. Didn't expect to see tide lines and huge ships plying the waters. Later looked at a map and realized you could drop my entire State ( Connecticut ) in there and never even make a ripple. Cleveland was nice, and I found that region of theUSA to be quite friendly, with nice down to earth folks. Wish the Rock and Roll H O F had existed then.

Hey Ben , J, and all other Browns fans: That was one heckuva game yesterday. Very impressive team y’all got there. If not for the big oops on that fumbled snap by Gillan (punter), you may have beat us. At halftime I was thinking sure glad you passed on the wager! The Chiefs D failed to show up until the fourth quarter, but kudos for a good game by Baker. Patrick was his usual “magician” self and came through late with that 75 yard bomb, but not before scaring the crap out of all us Chiefs fans. Anyway... very entertaining and exciting game.
