What are the best lures to get when bass fishing a river?

New to fishing. What kind of lures or setups do y’all like to use when fishing a murky river? There’s plenty of cover for fish in the river (logs, weeds, etc.) current is slowish. I’m kayaking fishing and I’ve done the float and fished with crankbaits, weightless t-rig, rooster tail, Colorado, etc. I just can’t get the bass to consistently hit whatever I throw. What would y’all cast out?

Bass are notoriously "inconsistant" and it would be amazing to actually find them 'consistent'!Just Sayin....RJS

Match the forage! If you see minnows, use minnow imitations. If you see crayfish, imitate those. If it is muddy, use bright colors with rattles.
