There are a lot of small tree roots from high water washing them out in one area I fish,Monday I was setting in my chair,I got up to walk toward my rods to re bait ,the instant I started to walk my right book caught on one of those roots..down I went landing on my camera I wear on my right side,it knocked the wind out of me,once I caught my breath I knew I cracked a rib,my right calf was burning bad too,I layed there for a few minutes catching my breath then slowly and painfully got up,two minutes before this happened my fishing pal Mike went back to his car for a long sleeve shirt, when he got back I was sitting in my chair brushing dirt off my camera,I told him what happened and he said lets pack it up brother,What a long painful walk out of there,I got home and did research on my symptoms,I knew I had a cracked rib,had it before, and I ruptured my Achilles tendon, now the long road to recovery, and no more fishing this year.

GOD Bless America ONCE again

In 70 years this sure isn't the first time out of action, probably won't be the last either.

Hey The Finder did you just want to one up Randy?

You 2 not painting a pretty picture for us clumsy old folks. Sounds like a early winters nap coming up, we will keep the pics coming so you can virtually reel them in.

Hope you recover quick and strong.

Sure wish you heal up soon TF, the best time of the year is upon us. Just wondering, do you eat the carp? I’ve never tried them but caught quite a few in the Susquehanna river during my college years. The Asians would ask me “are you going to keep”? They were most appreciative. Nice, humble people. They may know something about preparation of which I’m quite ignorant.

I keep aware of where I step,I was unaware of the roots right in front of me.Some crazy things happen when you are not aware of everything going on around you.Be consciously aware of EVERYTHING.

Hope that you mend up quick and get back to your original status ASAP. Indeed...calamity can happen when we least expect it. Seems like no matter how careful a person is...there are pitfalls awaiting us that always arrive by complete surprise. Best wishes to you in the days ahead as you recoup!

Hi Finder. Guess this is one of those days this old saying doesn't apply. A bad say fishing is better than a good day at work. Good luck
