Nice job. What did you do with the wood? Looks like an oak tree

Yes, it was a red oak. The manageable size pieces were given to my neighbor, the rest hopefully will be removed by anyone who wants them or the city, they do pickups on cuttings on Monday's. Great now, no more cleaning up leaves.

So true. Here people would almost be fighting to get that wood. Lol they would have been there while it was being cut down hauling it off. Fire wood and they use it to cook bbq a truck load here is 200.00 so that would bring some nice cash but your yard would have been cleaned up quickly

Oak here sells for $220 per cord. No way I’ll pay that so I’ll continue to cut the dead standing ashes on my buddies property. Most are already seasoned as the emerald ash borer has been around for quite a few years now. Virtually all the white ash on his property are dead or dying. Ash also splits very nicely.

Oh I agree but the people here see a dollar and will sale the wood. On my property I just keep it clean. Logging here has gone wild. The Deere has no where to go and lumber is very high. Every so many years I thin it out but make sure the deer has somewhere to go.

That's too bad Ronnie, to cut a nice red oak like that. But it was definitely to close to the house. I'm surprised the cutter didn't want it., being that it was a red oak.

That's his job, tree feller. Have had a few asking about the big logs. Glad it's down as had a big nest of carpenter ants. I wondered where they were coming from. Would see them under the carport running around

How are you going to catch squirrels if you can't go up the tree and act like a nut?

That tree was frightening, it could have taken me out if it fell

It is good to know that some people are smart enough to cut them down before they ruin a home and maybe kill someone. I have always been surprised that the insurance companies don't insist trees be removed before they grow large enough to cause damage or death. Same thing with large trees near sidewalks.
