Demo of Lowrance this morning

My "boat guy" was kind enough to take me out this morning for a demo of the new Lowrance unit this morning. After seeing it...I'm going to stick with Garmin. I had high hopes for Lowrance since it's cheaper but it just didn't "do it for me."

I did manage to catch a nice crappie using the Lowrance so it was a fun morning. I do appreciate the time that Dakota from Tadpoles Marine in Hugo, OK spent with me to demo the Lowrance.

I have one one my 23 Pro Line that came with the boat. Took me a long time to get use to it. And I'm not completely use to all it's functions. I've had it 12 years now. I do prefer the Garmin which I have on my 17 Sea Fox. Much more user friendly.

I’ve never been locked into one specific brand. I’ve primarily have installed Garmin, Lowrance, Simrad & Raymarine on various boats. Personally, I have found they all do certain things better than others. When it came to GPS navigating, hands down the Garmin’s were superior. Sonar, I give the blue ribbon to Lowrance. My current new boat of only 2 months, I installed Hummingbirds. I must say, my initial opinion is the sonar matches that of the Lowrance, and might be even better. All of the different screens are brilliant, and user friendly. Still on the fence with the GPS, however it may be the chip I purchase as it’s not really giving me the detail I was use to on my Garmins. Anyway, that’s my 2 cents as an average user.

Bill, I would wager you could swing by that BPS World Headquarters near you and ask for a demo on each unit within your budget. They ought to have some knowledge about them there.

9inch screen (Echomap UHD) I love it the clarity is great l'm still learning how to use all the different screens this thing dose every thing but hook the fish!!
Easy to do., and I can to any lake and pull up the map of the lake. And the different color screens are great plus it has a clock ⏰ on the screen.
Very simple to use!!
But I have more to learn about it and all its functions.
Good luck fishing and hunting if you hunt. Went out Dove hunting yesterday great to be in the field birds didn't want my field 😒
Have a great day
Andy

Haven’t found anyone very knowledge, or they were too busy to spend more than 3-4 minutes with me.
I’ll head back, try it again, that’s a very good idea. Tks.
Yes, original Bass Pro very close to my home. That’s a problem also, spending to much.
Tight Lines.

Not hard to spend too much there! Good luck! I bought my little Garmin from them and I love it, except it lies and tells me there are thousands of fish below me 😂
