Hi,
2 weeks ago I caught 28 bluegill and 2 Bass at my local lake, Laguna Lake in Southern California. Now I am not catching anything and tried different bait and locations on the lake. Cast far, cast shallow, different times of the day.
Where did the fish go?

Such problems of a early retirement :)

What has changed since you were there last? Warmer water(?)…fish deeper. Different time, look for shade or cover.

Is that the lake in Fullerton? Also known as Bass n Cherry ?
If so fished it when I was growing up. Had some great times fishing that lake caught my 1st Bass their when I was 12yrs old, and tons of blue grill.
Have a great day.

That is the lake Andy and used to be the Bastanchury lake. My wife grew up there and caught her first bluegill as a kid.

What a small world 🌎!!
Caught a lot of fish 🐟 fishing 🎣 that lake growing up.
Instead time I fished it was 9yrs ago. Their use to be some large bass and catfish in that lake
Grew up in Whitter by LA Harbra . Good times then!!

It's getting even smaller. I used to work in La Habra and my in-laws lived in Fullerton and my wife also when she was a kid. That area was so nice with mature green large trees in town and a nice neighborhood to grow up in. Whittier used to be the town where all the good restaurants were for lunch especially Mexican food.

I think OJ has it. The warmer water and the lower Oxygen levels shallow so most likely if they all went deep beyond casting range from shore.

It's a smaller world I went to Westminster HS and we played St. Paul for the one of the CIF championship football games. I think St. Paul was undefeated and almost always a good team. Think we lost but cannot recall. Have a great evening also!!!

Seems like all the Catholic schools were great teams. Didn't you guys play Mater Dei in Costa Mesa often for championship games? I think our major rival was Western HS who had a star quarterback Bob Acosta and also Edison HS. Most other schools around there were mediocre like Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Lakewood HS. Good luck shooting.
