Hi all, first poster here and although not new to surf fishing, it has been 50 or so years. I live in Maryland, 3 hours from beach. I do however visit my daughter often, who lives on the beach in Pompano Beach FL. I'll be heading down on Sept 5th and will be hitting the beach and pier.
Since we arrived in Maryland I have only been fresh water fishing, bass and trout mostly. This will be my first time fishing the ocean in a long time.
I grew up fishing the pacific for tuna, halibut, salmon etc. with my father. It was our thing.
Looking forward to participating here.
Tony
Welcome to the Stage Tony, there are a lot of great fishermen and women here who will be able to help you with good tips and tricks. I am not one of them, though…sorry. Whatever I caught off the beach (was told they were Whiting?) in FL was most likely pure luck! Good luck when you go!

Welcome Tony. Good luck down there. Should be a verity of fish in the surf. Your leaving on my 70th birthday.

Thanks for all the welcomes, I'm putting together tackle now. Hoping for some pompano but I will settle for whiting, they are good eating when fresh.
I will take pictures if we have any luck.
