Is summer over yet?

Spent the day cleaning the wood shop Sunday. Put all of the tools back where they belong. Fans running all day, 92 degrees out side. Actually can see the floor again. The shop is not really small, but not as large as the big shop in the barn, but great for the small furniture restoration that I do. My wife has the yard roto-tilled back to just dirt, all four acres of it. This causes the temp to be several degrees higher from solar radiation. She attacks the lawn as if it is a personal attack on her persona. In 22 years, this is the fifth time she has removed the grass, tilled the lawn up, raised my dislike for yard work, and made things so dusty the cleaning girls want to quit. The only thing that saved the day was a thunder storm that cooled things off later in the day. I wish it was late October.

Why are you all busting Grumpus's chops over something his wife does? Everyone of you has a wife that does a thing or two you don't understand and are powerless to stop. Grumpus is showing his wisdom by watching the event without making a big deal about it.

Thanks for the replies. All were taken in good humor. Wife is a farmers daughter. Also, MS Nursing, 20 yr Navy nurse and taught nursing at two college's. At 75 she probably can work circles around most half her age. I am glad she doesn't just sit and watch soap operas. Still well built for her age.

2 nd reply. I think she thinks she will accomplish getting our lawn(four acres) to look like the Scotts ads. No way with deer and all the other wildlife that comes down off the mountain to the river in front and beside the house.

Good for you Grumpus. My wife is a nurse also and doesn't mind getting her hands dirty in the yard.
