The last 2 days I've seen a Piper cub, yes a Piper cub towing a banner and with my eyes being what they are I couldn't even read what the banner said. Well that got me thinking how many years has it been since I've seen the Goodyear blimp. Used to even see them with lighted signs on them flying around. I remember seeing one grounded in New Smyrna Beach, FL once around football season. Sure miss them anyway.

Hey ! I ain't no 'skinny' either, but at least I wouldn't resemble a beached whale if I was sunning on the sand !

Just wear clothing appropriate to
your size and shape ! Not a great
idea to wear Spandex when you
weigh about 300 lbs. and your butt would fill a double-wide seat on the bus ! - Just sayin' !

well here is the answer to where are the blimps> from https://www.rd.com/article/why-you-dont-see-blimps-anymore/
The main reason you never see airships in the sky anymore is because of the huge costs it takes to build and run them. They’re very expensive to build and very expensive to fly. Airships require a large amount of helium, which can cost up to $100,000 for one trip, according to Wilnechenko. And the prices of helium keeps going up due to a world-wide helium shortage. It’s also no small feat to fly one. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, only 128 people in the United States are qualified to fly airships. And only 17 of them are paid to do it full time. On average, it takes pilots ten to 15 hours to learn how to fly a single-engine plane. But in order for a pilot to go on their first solo trip in an airship, it takes 250 to 400 hours of training.

Another main reason is the technical advances of drones. They have become much more reliable in the past few years and are an easier and cheaper way to capture things from an aerial view. Today, consensus is that there are about 25 blimps still in existence and only about half of them are still in use for advertising purposes. So if you ever happen to see a blimp floating up above you, know that it’s a rare sight to see. Another rare sight these days? Alarm clocks, stereos, and DVD players—just some of the things in your home that won’t exist in 10 years.

Read an article awhile back, from the ferry system up in Seattle area. Had to re-assign "person capacity" #'s allowed. Most all of the seating is "bench-style", ...no definitive placement of butts. Allowable space WAS 20"/person....."today's people size" made them re-configure the allowable to 24"/person, thus greatly reducing the # of passengers allowable.
Way to go, "expanding population"....costing ferry companies revenue $$ on each trip and causing some folks to have to "wait for the next one, this one is full".

Being "a little guy", 5'5" & 165-170lbs, I am amazed at how many of the gals on Match.com categorize themselves as "about average" build, 5'3"tall.......and then post pictures of themselves, easily outweighing me by 50+lbs !
Even have seen some post as "slender build"......still look like a fullback that could hurt me !

A gal that wears size 12 or bigger dresses, better be nearly 6' tall, in my way of thinking......does that make me a misogynistic jerk, or just a realistic observer ?

(BTW...First wife was a size 5-7, 5'4" & always complaining about being "a bit heavier than I should be, after giving birth"(might have been 135lbs), second ex was size 3.... right at 5'3"....no kids... hourglass figure, even at 50....was I spoiled or just lucky ?)

IMHO.... just SHOULD NOT make some clothing, especially beachwear etc. in super-large sizing.....save us all....

That’s true but we don’t know why they are that way.
