My wife and I are just getting back into the fishing groove but I'm pretty rusty and I have never fished the area before. I'm looking for a little guidance on how and when to fish Rhodhiss Lake. Right now we are just bank fishing for whatever we can get. I hope to be able to acquire a boat or a couple of kayaks for next spring. for now, we are just thinking, Bream or Cats and maybe a Bass or two from time to time.
Is there any decent bank fishing near Lakeside park? Any pointers will be greatly appreciated,

In the late '70's and early '80's I used to go to "Market" there and High Point, to see/buy the latest selections for the coming year.
After reading this forum for a couple of years, I now wish I had taken a bit of time to explore the fishing around there. Sorry I have no info for you, but wish you good luck !

My buddies in the furniture biz back in K.C. Mo., say that so much competition from overseas makes it hard to consider the furniture made in your area, as well as that of Michigan and Indiana, whereas those 3 used to dominate both the household and commercial biz for decades, some, even more than a century. Definitely sad, much like fabric mills of your area, and Detroit being the main place "cars come from".

Yeah... Progress.
Our region lost a lot of industry to "Overseas". GE had a large plant here... Overseas, Lots of furniture factories which created so many support industries ( fabric and textile, gloves, packaging, trucking heck Sandpaper) all withered away when furniture manufacturing went... "Overseas".

Yeah, it's not always the main "big guys" that shut down and jobs are lost. Like in your area, it's often more devastating to the community, when the much smaller, but just as necessary, components makers go away.
Recently watched a show on the History channel about power tools. DeWalt is mighty proud about their "Made in USA" labels they showed numerous times... while the plant manager gave a # in the MILLIONS of.... the PARTS THEY RECEIVED DAILY...AT JUST THAT ONE PLANT...and, as an "aside" in the narrative, admitted that most were coming from FOREIGN MANUFACTURERS.

Maybe we need to re-define the word "MADE" or even pose restrictions on how many (%?) "out of country borders" components are in a product, before they get to use "that label"....at present, it's HIGHLY deceptive, & imo, basically a lie.
(In DeWalt's defense, they DO "make"(windings and assembly..... however the stator shaft,windings bracket...who knows ?) the motors, but saw no operation for drill casing or carry case, trigger, chucks for drills, no mention of their source of copper wiring, etc.... love to see the complete list of parts-ready-to-use,and their origin. Guessing that's kinda secret.
