Lots of great fishing in the area. Can be on a pond in 10 minutes. Plus the surf is great. Anyone else in the area?

Yes there are a few guy in the area. I live in Ocean View and fish the inlet alot. Also go to Holt's Landing and sometimes the surf at 3R's.

Are the nice weakfish still visiting the bay. I have VERY fond memories of catching 3-4 pound weakfish in the bay and some flounder and nasty skates. WOW if only we would mature and understand facts of life, we may live longer and enjoy LIFE>

Grew up fishing the bay summers. Bowers Beach, a great fishery. Caught a lot of varied species. Fun times. Always used squid for bait, and a sinker lower. Carolina rigged. Moved to MO, fish here now. Tight lines and hold on.

Well Florida, those would be just that, memories. The weakies have been scarce around here for the last few years. I have heard of a few being caught but not like the old days. It's been a slow year for fishing, the blues never really made their blitz this summer and flounder are hard to come by.

Decades ago, I was the "caretaker" for a buddy who went fishing with me...... while ON LSD ! Windowpane, if I recall..... stupid move....on BOTH our parts !
I came close to just leaving him at the lake and coming back to get him in the morning.... but alas, I am a a responsible type of guy and so I coerced him to get in the car and leave....it was an effort, to say the least.....he kept wanting to stay and try to catch "that huge purple fish with the sweet pink lips".... sorry, dude, I'm just not seeing it !
I reminded him of that night, many years later....he had no recall whatsoever of the outing.....well..DUH !!
(his new wife found the story hilarious as all get out and I got "the evil eye"the rest of the evening...by then he was "a respectable lawyer in a fine practice, on his way to "making partner".... hehehe.

They haven't been around in years. There's still some but not like the 80s.

The swell is no surprise. The hurricane out in the middle of the Atlantic throws a lot if energy into the water.
