When do you need a leader in fresh water?

Been trying my hand at freshwater fishing while the bite's been off in the salt. I'm using braid and throwing mostly senko-style worms.

I use one all the time. I find it easier to swap lures. And, I target walleye alot. Lots of teeth.

I would use either a mono or fluorocarbon leader attached to the braid, think you’ll get more hookups than straight braid.
