I don’t bass fish but those that do may find this interesting.
I’m not judging just passing on information.

Makes sense. I make all of my own soft plastics and they will dissolve over time with the material I use. I never really thought about it and I don't throw my chewed up ones overboard but I'll bet that's, probably, why the manufacturer of the product I use has designed it not to last very long. My soft plastic tubes are much softer and more fish like than store bought soft plastics. After about 50 casts, which is about an hour's worth of fishing for me, I DO notice it's time to change them out. They will, literally, begin to dissolve on the jig head.

It's one of those things you just don't think about, but you really should.

Look guys....don't get your panties all in a wad. I post this Stat over and over again to make a point. No matter what we do as fishermen, the best possible C & R techniques, barbless hooks, whatever you do to improve the mortality....37% of the bass population on the average lake die every year. That's just the way it is. A lot of bass die every year but for the most part there are still plenty of bass to be caught. If we keep over reacting to everything we learn everything from lead to plastic will get banned. And at the end of the day, say it with me, 37% of the bass on your favorite lake will die this year.l

I know we kill Bass and other Fish and animals. Power Bait and Plastic bait is bad for them. At least the majority here realize we kill them. Thanks for the Post Larry.

Thanks Jeremy,
I’m not a PETA member and I’m not winning about the article.
I do fish for saltwater bass here with similar lures.
Found this article interesting about why some bass are skinny. Learning something new shouldn’t make people upset but I guess that it does.

I don't wear panties, your post was spot on, really don't think people were over reacting just gave them some food for thought.

Where we used to live the Park Rangers would be on the lookout for people chumming with corn. Checking the shoreline with their binoculars.

Thanks, I’m sure the same thing happens to our saltwater bass here.
I wasn’t saying not to use them, but if I find something interesting I’ll post it.
Have a good evening.
