FS Digest

Live in north Georgia and primarily bass fish. I occasionally do some gulf fishing in Florida, so I recently picked up a 4000 series inshore spinning setup. I’d love to get more use out of it than the occasional trip to Florida, so curious what some freshwater applications for a reel this size might be. I mainly use baitcast setups for bass fishing, and a couple lighter spinning setups for finesse.

I would think it could apply to cats, carp, and some of the feistier gamefish like musky/pike/pickerel. I'll occasionally use my 8000 and surf rod for cats if I'm bank fishing and need to make an NFL throw to get to the channel!

Any lure in open water or light cover that you use your baitcaster with. If nothing else, pick one (crankbait.bladedjig, jig, topwater, shaky head, Carolina rig,jerk bait, any and all plastic baits) and give it a try.
