Hey! I love using soft baits for fishing in lakes where I live, but I keep running into the same problem every time I go fishing: the fishes destroy my baits! most of the fishes in my area have sharp teeth, so I can get 1, maybe two fish per bait, and then I have to change the bait. My question is: Is this normal? That's how it's like for you guys too? is it worth investing in more durable soft bait, or maybe I should just keep buying the cheap ones I use( effective and cheap, but not durable).
also, extra question: what setup do you think it's best for avoiding snags when using soft bait? carolina rig/ texas/ etc?
thanks!

Hey! I love using soft baits for fishing in lakes ... (

That's why we try to buy in quantity, worms for example, in bags of 100 instead of 8 at a time. Z Man's Elaztech baits are much tougher, and they're making more styles all the time. Their only drawback is that they are NOT compatible with most other soft plastics, and will melt them. I just recently discovered that they attack the rubber ring that holds the skirt on a jig,as well and in the process softened the paint on the jighead as well. It didn't seem to affect the silicone skirt, only the ring. Some use a silicone ring, and those should be ok.
I pour my own worms, craws, lizards, swimbaits. I use a saltwater - grade plastic and it holds up pretty well, better than a lot of expensive store bought baits like Yamamoto. If I were you I would look to places like tacklewarehouse, and look at revues for numerous plastic manufacturers . It has been my experience that Texas rigged plastics don’t hang up as much as Carolina rigged plastics....My 2cents.
Strike King has a new Elaztech stick worm out now called the Zero. A little pricey, but so is Z-MAN.
It is true that material is more expensive but it doesn't tear up like the other stuff does. The only thing I don't like about it is it is really hard to rig on certain applications. That aside it is all I buy now.
Rhyno

I’ve caught the 3 last posts of fish on Yum Pumpkin green sinkos, but they are more brown with black flakes,bulk,30 for $9.99 and 100 for $29.99 at Dick’s Sporting Goods, everyone on here will have different products they like, try em all and find what works for your situation, and I use a 2/0 offset worm hook, weightless, with the hook tip barley exposed, again,it works for me🎣
Zman. Again Zman
These things are stupid tough
Like 40 fish tough
After that abuse they start looking ragged but they keep catching fish.
Superglue is your friend. They really don’t like things poked into them. Superglue solves that.
These baits get bit and are toughest things in the market.
