My quickly slapped together National League Allstar Team composed of players that played during my lifetime. Let me hear yours. After you tell me who's on mine.

I can only get 10 photos on here - my DH for when we play the AL bums will be Tony Gwynn. Tell me how I screwed this up.

Maybe Brooks Robinson, Ozzie Smith, there's so many I could add but your group is a good one. I guess, now that I think about it, Brooks was an American league player.

That outfield had over 2000 home runs.

An argument can certainly be made for Rose. But where would you play him? First instead of Garvey? OK with me. But Garvey was nearly flawless at first defensively. And right handed to boot.

Pete wouldn't be happy riding the bench. Maybe second?

I'd put him a first instead of Garvey. Alomar, when he was with the Padres, was simply the best 2nd baseman I've ever seen play.

I thought about Rose at first but knew more about Garvey than Alomar. Best shortstop/outfielder I saw in person was Yount. A MVP at both positions in his career.

Didn't Yount play the outfield also? Or am I thinking of somebody else? Now the best short stop I ever saw was Omar Vizquel. And I saw Ozzie when he was with the Padres. But Omar had zero offense. Can't say that about Banks. Or Yount, but he's in the wrong league for this list.

Omar Vizquel and Robby Alomar in Cleveland together. What a duo.

Yes. That's why I said shortstop/outfielder for Yount. Milwaukee started out in the National League, then switched to American(I think when Selig bought the team in the 70s), and now back to National. Yount started at shortstop for the Brewers at age 17.

But he played for the Brewers, never for the Braves. Is that right? Not that familiar with the history of the Brewers.
Giants just acquired Kris Bryant from the Cubs. He's that type of player - very versatile, can play just about anywhere on the field, very solid at 3B and he's got a cannon. He's fit right in so far.

When Robin Yount played for the Brewers they were still in the AL, he started out as SS ended up playing CF, he had a great hitting 2ndB sidekick named Paul Molitor,, Kris Bryant,,,booooo

You are right. Yount was with the Brewers. The Cubs destroyed their team by trading all their talent. Bryant, Rizzo, the list goes on.
