So, I know that bait casters tend to cast better and accurately but does anyone use bait caster for one use and a spinning set up for another use? What are your specific uses for each one?

As you said, baitcasters are usually more accurate. Spinning reels usually cast further with light lures. Long casts cover more water so if you’re fishing large areas you’re better off using spinning gear. If you’re trolling or anchored and pulling bait with lead or a diver you’re better off with a bait caster, preferably with a line counter reel so you have an idea where your lure/ bait is located.

rocky, for bass fishing i use bait casting equipment, but for ultralight fishing i use spinning equipment. tight lines.
A long long time ago I started out wwith Penn reels. Still had backlashes now and then. Went to a Zebco 33 and never looked back at the peen reels unless drop fishing from a boat or pier. Then I found out about Open Face Spinning reels (Garcia) and have still followed those rules. About accurate between the two types, I am better with an Open Face reel and a good rod. But I have years of practice. LOL last year out at the Bay casting from shore, a guy said, "Wow you cast a Bullet!". I never thought about it when casting. If the line loops up in the air you loose distance. Again years of knowing when to release the line, it becomes second nature. With the Ner Bait casters with the magnets and self braking, maybe but the price to too high for me to start over.
So my thought is "Stick with what works for you". If you can afford the new bait casters and like them, do it.
If you learned how to use the Spinning reels better stick with them. Again IMO
