My main interest is getting after the big cats in the big rivers. I live in St. louis, Mo and have easy access to both the Missouri and Mississippi rivers. Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,

Welcome Jimbo. Glad to have a good cat man on the forum. I've never fished the big Muddy or the Missouri so I'm no help to you. I do fish the Arkansas River but it's just a seasonal stream compared to your rivers. good luck.

Welcome to the stage. If there are any grain elevators along the river’s where you fish, start there. Many a big cat has been caught around them in old muddy down here.
Welcome to the stage JS.
I’m a Missouri guy, but not a cat fish person.
Let me know if you need help with bass or crappie.

Hello fellow Missourian!
Most of my river fishing was in the Kaskaskia river in Illinois. But I have been catfishing Missouri quite a bit. Big Catfish go for big bait. The don’t come to you, you have to go to them. Finding hollow logs, eddies, ledges, dams, like other fish. The biggest cats are just gulping up stuff going by. That’s why noodling is a popular way to get the big one. I tried it once. That’s all I have to say about that.
