This was my 8th year fishing on the Kenai River in Alaska. This year was the best. Big numbers of fish and great weather over all.
The best part of fishing the Kenai is my fishing friends. To me these people I fish with is a great blessing from God. It is one of the most giving places I am at all year. Plus I get to catch fish. Can't wait for next year.

Awesome that you have been going for so many consecutive seasons! Glad to see that you had a great time on this trip with friends and also caught some limits! Even though there can be crowds...that is a spectacular place to stand in the water! Love that glacial silt colored water...makes for a wild setting! Thanks for posting!

Oh, that is a great place to be, none better for salmon. What weight rod do you use?

I use a TRO 9wt with a Sage 2210 reel. 40lb mono with 25-30lb leader.

That should do the job for you, with that many people around you, you have to be able to control them. I have always used a 10', 8#, G. Loomis that I built, with a Ross reel. I try to avoid the crowd, so that works for me.
