I have had this knife for 20+ years, you can tell the blades are a lot thinner after years of use. The other day when I closed the long blade I heard a pop and part of the keeper on bottom of knife broke off. Me being me I looked up Schrade hoping to replace or maybe getting fixed only to find they went out of business in 2004, so I guess I will be shopping. I have other schrade knives I will retire from use as they might be collectables.
I'll sure miss that one

I have the same knife, but donāt carry it. I carry the smaller (two

I've got one too, BUT it's called " Uncle Henry". Maybe that will help your search.

Had no luck replacing the broken blade either. Wish you better luck.

Have had my old timer since my 20s. 30 plus years having in and out of my pocket. The best thing about that knife is when you sharpened it. It stayes sharp. I don't carry it as much now.
You can but a brand new Uncle Henry or Schrade Old Timer, they are still manufactured. But in 2004 production was moved from US to China, and the new ones are not what the name's reputations were built on. You are not going to buy a decent knife for 20 dollars or so. If you want a truly well built knife, made out of high quality materials, look to Benchmade, a US company based in Oregon, and be ready to lay down some green. I own a couple of Buck 110's that I bought years ago and they are work horses. Buck has a really good line of knives. But they're not Benchmades.
Just seeing a knife brings back so many memories. Even took mine to school just in case i wanted to widdle. Good luck doing that today much less getting on an airplane.
How did we ever loose such good times?
My everyday carry knife is a Gerber. Made in Portland, Oregon.

You can say that again! Back in high school I had to give a speech for a class where we got to choose the subject. I chose mine on how to fillet a fish. We had 3 "specialty" knives for our home process...and I took them on the bus to school, brought them into class, and proceeded to fillet an imaginary fish by showing the knives and drawing chalk art on the blackboard. That would never happen nowadays...even if you could get a separate ride to school!
Of course we all carried a standard "pocket" knife too...just for whatever was needed as a kid!
By the way...that's a bugger about your favorite knife breaking. It probably means that you got a ton of great use out of it, and even well made USA products from the past don't necessarily always last forever, but they definitely outlast some of the modern junk that is available!
My favorite knife is a Buck, and I have a few Cases as well.
Buck knife assigned to mushroom shearing duty on this outing.....
