In the Charleston, SC area and I'm looking to purchase a boat that can easily fish the flats and creek areas, but also would not have a problem fishing deep in the harbor. Not looking for something luxurious and expensive either. The more affordable, the better. Suggestions?

The only suggestion I have is to put any potential purchase in the water and test out all the pumps and lights, motor ECT. Also check the trailer lights. this way you will know what needs to be repaired or replaces right away. Every boat will have a few issues that needs to be addressed

Blazer Bay Center console, 24' is what I have been out on, and works perfect for those situations. I'm a kayak guy myself, but from what my buddy who owns it says, maintenance is not bad at all, for a boat at least. I do some bay and a lot of marsh fishing most vacations, and the kayak is great for that.

Check out local boat company Carolina Skiffs made for coastal zones.

I'm kind of partial to my 2001 Kenner 18 1/2 foot semi-tunnel hull with jack plate and front/rear casting decks. It's powered by a Mercury 125 HP (Saltwater model) and 80 lb Great White trolling motor.. I got a great deal on it by purchasing it (used) in the winter here in Texas. It's been a great boat for the bays, jetties and lakes around here. Big bonus is that it fits into my garage so I don't have to pay for storage.

If you can wait, I suggest looking for a good used boat in the late fall and winter to find the best deals.

Good luck!

Make sure you have enough truck to safely pull and stop the boat you get.
