So I do a crap ton of lmb fishing but a local reservoir stocks stripped bass which i have never caught. I know they get bigger than lmb so I'll be using my med heavy and heavy action rods but I dont want to wreck my revo x. Any suggestions for lures or ways to catch them?

Buck tails, large jerkbaits (hard and soft), large soft swim baits, top water plugs and lipless crankbaits.
Or a surf rig with dead anchovies on the hooks.

I use the revo x as a heavy carp reel, carbon drag can handle it

I've seen plenty caught on blade baits.

Stripers are migratory ocean fish - where would they be stocked?
Damn good question I never thought about that ocean bound fish in a stock pond ?

They are stocked in lakes all over the country and do really good in fresh water impounds.

Texas Parks and Wildlife stocks Strippers in my local lake. Canyon Lake is a large deep water lake, and the strippers are great, but hard to catch. At least hard for me. I found one floating mid lake choking on a 7 inch Shad. We mostly ski at the lake, and fish at the coast.
I didn't realize stripers were so adaptable.
They move up into the fresh water rivers to spawn. They were accidental land locked when they closed a dam in South Carolina in the 1940s. The stripers flourish.
I knew of the SC circumstance. Also knew of stripers introduced to the pacific coast where they have duplicated their east coast success - so much so that salmon lovers regard stripers as an invasive species. Just became aware they are now being stocked in multiple fresh water locations. Do they get as big (50 lbs +) in fresh water?
Texas state record is now 53 lbs. so yes they do. My personal best is 35.
That's impressive. The New Jersey state record is 78 lbs 8 oz, caught in surf off Atlantic city in 1982.
