I've been offshore twice in my life but other than that I've only fished fresh water. I've been skunked every time down here. Any knowledge would help. Thanks

With the red tide and the C & R on red fish and trout in Pinellas and Hillsborough you would do better going north to Hernando or Citrus counties.
