I've never been to the OPP site, but from what I've gathered on here, that would be the place to posts such things as politics and such opinions as that. Again, JMO. Steve.

The original ATTIC I remember was on the 1927 house I grew up in.. at least for 10 of my younger years.

It had an attic. If go up in attic could smoke and keep cigarette right at the intake for where a stove had been removed from a chimney It had vacuum big time. Same chimney was in basement too. Same thing mega vacuum. That’s the original Attic I remember.

It makes sense what your saying if a post ends up in the attic oh well but maybe shouldn’t habitually start posts in the attic.

I personally really like the attic it is one of the first places I check. I like to have my views challenged in honest open debate as I like to challenge others. It does take away from the attic when others are so insecure in their own position that they have to resort to personal attacks instead of actually using logic, and reason to defend their position. To often it degenerates into a defense of who is right not what is right and then into personal attracts since the argument turned to the people involved not the position or issue that was originally posted. this is one of the big problems with our country today, many are not willing to listen and discuss different view points with out becoming threatened and feeling personally attacked. It is to bad that those that are to insecure in what they believe or to immature to have a civil discussion on controversial issues don't just admit their short comings and inscribe from the attic and allow the rest to have civil, open and honest debate and discussion,

Yes. I agree. Opinions will always be different from one person to the next but getting in a knock down d**g out about who’s right and who’s wrong is simply saying one is entitled to their own opinion and one is not. When a person resorts to name calling and threats it’s no longer a civil conversation. I know from experience it only makes things worse if you try to reason with someone in that mindset. It will only fuel an, unstable, mind.
The main reason I post most things in the attic is because I have a couple of guys on here who look for my posts and attack me on every one of them. I’m hopeful that will stop but, so far, not so much. When admin says to post here if we feel it will become a problem I post here when I feel it will become a problem and so far it generally does. Just using the advice of administration.

I agree wholeheartedly. You hit the nail on the head. Been there and been the one harassed about supposedly getting tax dollars for my income as a worker and as a retiree. It’s non-factual information. I explain it to the culprit but it never changes. Someone makes same exact non-factual statements. But other than the one person that does that life is good.

I can thrive and laugh at how misinformed they are. Calling someone a derogatory term because of their political affiliation shouldn’t happen either. It’s no wonder people get charged up and discharge their thoughts on here.

What jarheadfishnfool is saying and everyone before you agreed is Attic is where things are sent that don’t abide by the rules of other arenas. In other words if want to go and constantly argue about ( in your recent statement have conversations) how bad the other party is and how it’s ruined or ruining your life that OPP is where you should go.

I always tell people that think our country sucks so bad to move to a third world country so you realize how good you do have it. Most of the biggest whiners would be back in a month if they didn’t already fall to the level of the 3rd world society.

We live in the best country in the world. That doesn't mean we are perfect or couldn't get even better and I think that is the point I was trying to make. If we don't like something we have the freedom to speak out criticize, and tell what we think should be done to make it better. Just because I may not like Biden or Trump and criticize what they are doing doesn't mean I don't like the country. It means I love the country but think it is going in the wrong direction and we need to evaluate and change course. Now that doesn't mean everyone is going to agree but that to is the point in a free and open country we need to have vigorous and open debate over what direction we want our country to take. This is not whining it is what we should do as long as it is peaceful and constructive in nature. Whining is complaining with out offering any answers or solutions to be considered.

Thank you for your service. I served in the military as well and those who haven’t don’t really understand what we all did. There’s a whole different outlook by those of us who have served. I’ve met VERY few disrespectful people who have served our great country. Those who tried to serve but couldn’t have a way different attitude towards people than those who just didn’t want to serve.

Amen! As a Vet I actually feel "more at Home" with other vets. I know they are not going to try and do Dumb things near me. Any time I feel bad about how I am aging (knees, ect) I go down to the VA Hospital and look at the Vets that have lost parts of their bodies, and realize how well off I really am. I respect them for their Service and for their sacrifice for others. Even those that don't care about them unless it is for Politics. I try and tell them where they can go fishing for free if they buy a license and where they can get a free pass to enter as a Vet. Some say I have some PTSD, but I have always been this way. LOL
