I’ve heard the improved clinch knot is the easiest and most effective. I also know that the trilene is the tried and true knot for attaching hooks. Any thoughts or am I missing one?? I have been using the improved clinch as it is very easy to tie but wanna know if the trilene is any better or if I’m missing one.

Although I use the improved clinch as well for bulkier presentations, palomar is my go to for cranks, jigs, T-rigs, and finesse presentations. Much easier and faster than the improved clinch (or for that matter most other knots), no twists, and extremely secure.
See
https://www.netknots.com/fishing_knots. The more you fish, the more you may find the need to tie different types of knots. Most knots are comparatively easy to tie with a little practice. Good luck and tight lines. Tom
Yup, learn the palomar knot and use it when you can.
The cinch knots have some failure with braid I don't use them anymore as they cost me a nice Red Fish. I like the trilene knot a lot.

Palomar, uni and double uni cover most all bases for fishin.
Trilene, Palomar, Uni, Uni-Uni covers everything.

hemi - agreed on not using the clinch or even improved clinch on braid. Heck, I don't even use trilene on braid cause all it is is a clinch knot with that additional loop through the hook eye. I too have experience knot failure there with braid. All my reels, except one, are spooled with braid and all, except my frogging reel, have fluoro leaders. So improved clinch has worked for me for fluoro to hook connection. But for the topwater reels, definitely palomar.
The Paloma only way to go
