Some of you know I was "Burglarized" a few weeks back. So I did my property list and in the was a couple tackle bags. Big ones! hold 8 or 9 larger containers. What would you all think might be in there for value? I got this feeling I may have burned myself... Hard to be exactly sure what was there but they weren't full of discount bobbers and cheap hardware.

Well buddy, IF they held at least 10 lures, at 8 bucks a lure, AT LEAST, that's 80 dollars apiece.
If you had 2 big bags that held 9 lure boxes in each bag, that's $720.00 X 2 is $1440.00 just for the lures.
If the boxes were 3 bucks apiece that nearly another $60.00. So that is $1500.00. PLUS the cost of the tackle bags and anything else you had in the bags besides the lures. WOW, so sorry for your loss.

Always submit high because they’re likely to want to pay you less. Let’s just hope they take your estimate and that you don’t have to provide receipts. A near impossible feat I’m sure…🐟on

So sorry to hear of your misfortune Lipsticker. People that steal are rats in the streets, fortunately we don’t have much of that going around here. That being said, I’ve got pictures of all of my guns with their serial #’s in case if ever happens.

I agree with Saw1 way of estimating it. Just think of how small of a bag of stuff at Fishing Tackle store is well over $100 or $300 or $500+

You could print a copy of a website price list on common fishing gear too and add it so if an insurance adjuster is a golfer and not a fisherman he or she can see you have the information they are looking for while they are out playing with their balls drinking martinis on your insurance premiums.

My fishing stuff insurance claim with some pics and what I could recall including 27 rods and extra reels came to 13K, with that and the other things broad daylight even said hi to one of the neighbors, the guy got 4 years. Can’t blame the neighbor, I had workers and friends in and out of shop getting stuff all the time, at least he identified him. And in Washington even stealing a canoe registered for a motor is theft of a motor vehicle. Frghhg tweekers

Did you tell him they attach to your phone to calibrate how honest insurance companies are?

Calipers like for measuring similar to a Micrometer?

Cool . You caught them. This is a story you never told me. You told me about the vanishing boat though.

With some lures pricing out at over $20 a pop, seems like $3000 is reasonable. If you get half you can recover some of it, anyway.

Same theft, why I mentioned even a registered canoe but yeah it was my boat and theft of a motor vehicle is what they convicted on, said the burglary wouldn’t be any additional time. Think I told you about ex running off with the 50k insurance check and probably set up the theft all my tools and stuff are probably with her family in Nicaragua

Cool. I see. You told me about it but never said anything about someone getting busted for it. I’m glad you prosecuted. Scammers deserve what they get after being caught. Another type that should be taken on a fishing accident.

Yeah. I’m not the guy playing golf with your insurance premiums.

I went to German School for Machinery.

I have several. They have metric and SAE on them. Today there is electronic types too.

Thanks for replying. I used them in measuring Camshafts and Crankshafts too when disassembled to decide if within specifications. Metric is actually TEN times easier than SAE. Everything is multiples of TEN. British ( SAE ) is multiples of ten as well but of an inch
Not a millimeter. The Metric System is way simpler when it comes to measuring small amounts. I think. I understand both but after the training I had I really felt that millimeters and 10ths and 100ths etc of millimeters was way easier than of an inch. Because a millimeter is already much smaller than an inch.
