Fishing 🎣 in Gatlinburg

I'm going on vacation to Gatlinburg TN. Any recommendations on where to fish and what type of fish should I be targeting. My understanding based on what I have read they stock a lot of trout in that area. I'm not a huge fan of fishing for stocked fish but beggers can't be choosers. Thanks in advance for any responses. Tight lines to y'all

They stock the Pigeon River with trout every Thurs nite. A lot of the motels in PF & G-burg are rite on the river. Best places to fish is in the Smokey Mountain Nat Park.

Drive down to Townsend and ask the folks at Little River Outfitters. They are very knowledgeable.

If you don't mind about a 45 minute drive, you could try Douglas Lake in Dandridge. They have a public boat landing just across the Hwy 70 bridge outside of downtown. If you aren't bringing a boat, there are plenty of rentals at the resorts. The also have a great T-dock next to the boat launch. Fishing there for bass, crappie , drum and bluegill is good at times. The bass pros are on this lake every summer. Plenty of bait shops near the lake.
