When the temperature goes up...the fish go down

Well I knew it was just a matter of time. The weather here in NE Ohio has been in the upper 80's and low 90's and the humidity and dew point is very high. The water temperature is in the low to mid 70's. My honey hole has turned sour. The fish have receded to deeper cooler waters. I fish from shores and docks so I set my rig about 18" deeper...but really had not much effect on the catch rate or even bite rate for that matter. It might be time to invest in a small boat. In my humble opinion there's no bad day fishing. It sure beats being at the office. I'll be there at my honey hole when they come back.

Hello Sir ,and I will always call you that as a sign of my appreciation for changing my life ,with that out of the way ,I started out with a600 dollar old boat ,cleaned it up invested about 800 bucks and friends help, kept it for about 3yrs , sold it for 1800 and added cash bought a used Gregor aluminum 16' in 1991 and still use it at our local lakes and rivers, yes I've bought a different motor for it, but she's great, my parents gave me their 2000 ,23' Seaswirl Striper cuddly cabin ,which we use for the ocean, my whole point is start small and then advance as needed good luck and tight lines Sir, ooorrraaahhh!

Thank you for the response Marine...you have just motivated me to start looking for a small boat. You know I was a Drill Instructor at Pari Islnd for 3 years adi I pray every day that the recruits learned as much from me as I did from them. I can guarantee one thing....they will never forget who their Drill Instructor was. They were not disappointed. Semper Fi brother. Thanks again.

Thank you for your service and the important job you did. 70 degree water is not so bad. Water temp last week at my favorite lake was 86 degrees. I can't tell you the temp of any of the lakes close to me cause they are all dries up!
