I am sure that I am not the only one here that has lost best friends, classmates and family to cancer. My "Boss", who is dying of Pancreatic Cancer, turned 58 last Friday. We had a surprise party for him, a great success. He looked pretty good at the start, but faded a lot as the evening wore on. He probably will not see Christmas. His father is 94, has been bedridden for the last year. Both of them will probably go not far apart. My two best friends died of cancer, neither of them seeing 65. My chancellor at the school where I taught died of Chirosis (sp) of the Liver from being sprayed with Agent Orange. A guy I flew with for years died days after being diagnosed with cancer. Sometimes I wonder about why them, and not me. Here I am at 80, till working 5 days a week and usually doing a lot around the place on the weekends. I hope I have not been too maudlin, I, maybe, just wanted to get this off my chest.

I don't know anyone who hasn't been touched by that horrible disease in one way or another. Personally I've been through a half dozen or more surgeries to remove skin cancers, scheduled for another tomorrow. Those are nothing. Lost my father when he was only 62 to a brain tumor. My older sister when she was just 56 to ovarian cancer. It's a nasty devastating disease. It's one of the main reasons why I am not a believer. What kind of loving god would come up with something like that? And then afflict it on little babies and children? Yeah, I'd have an issue with somebody like that.

No way were you maudlin along there. Better to get out there than to keep it bottled up. We listen and some understand and many Pray.

I can understand Spirit's concerns but hope has me believing that some day we all will know the answer.

I think most of us feel your pain and anger.
I lost my sister at age 60. She had it all over her body. My dad died at 66 from a heart attack but when they did the autopsy his heart was covered with cancer so I blame that on the heart attack. You’d think by now they would’ve figured out how to eliminate it. Oh yeah, there’s too much money involved in stretching out the treatments to do what’s best for the patient.

I remember back in the fifties when they said son have a cure. No reason for one pill should cost $1000 except for greed

Be nice if DC did something about the cost of health care. People could afford ins if care wasnt so ridiculous. Quit sending money to everyone else. Take care of USA 🇺🇸🇺🇸
