Something new for me, on some of my lures change out the treble hooks for in-line hooks. What a difference, lot better for the fish easy to un hook and a lot safer for me. No more fish flopping around with a bunch of treble hooks waiting to bite me. And the hook up rate was about the same, this morning had 10 or 11 bites and brought in 8. Plus easier to un tangle in the tackle box. Anyone ever try it with panther martins?

I've changed a few Squarebills to inline hooks, jury still out on that. I've only thrown a couple, and only caught 1 Largemouth so far. Not Panther Martins, but I have a couple Blue Fox Spinners that came with an optional single hook. We have a few Trout and Atlantic Salmon areas that are restricted to "a Single Free Swinging Hook " . They seem to work well, and releasing fish is much easier. I don't see why Panther Martins wouldn't work as well.

Spirit loves his Panther Martin’s. Maybe he’ll see your post and comment on it.

Panther Martins are my go to lures for trout fishing in the streams.

I put a straight hook n a circle hook as rear hook on 2 crankbaits. Haven't got to try them yet. See if the straight or circle hook works better than treble.

I tried VMC inline hooks on 4, 1.5 and 2, 2.5 Squarebills.

Those are the same brand of hooks that I use. How do you like them?

I've never had any problems with them, they hold a point well. I also use other brands for different techniques. Owner and Gamakatsu trebles, Trokar EWG and Wacky hooks, as well as Swimbait hooks.

Any time I throw metal spoons or spinners for blues and Spanish mackerel I change out the
Trebles for straight in line hooks. C n R is the name of that game and jts a lot easier and safer. Those blues never stop wiggling and I don't need those extra point sticking out. I might miss 1 in 10 but it really doesn't matter when you are getting hit multiple times on each cast.

I feel the same way, c and r and don't need all those hooks in my hands
