Look for current breaks, eddys, whirlpools or slack water behind a log or a rock. Both species ambush prey from behind cover and will look for food passing by these spots.

If at all possible always wade and cast upstream. That way sediment you stir up goes behind you and fish face upstream because that is where their food source comes from. This way your lure gives off a more realistic appeal.
