Hello, I'm very new to fishing and am obsessed with it already. I am on my way to purchase a ugly stik gx2 for some freshwater fishing, and I want a reel which won't break and hopefully will last long. I am looking to catch anything and everything, from bass to pike, but since I don't understand much about fishing yet, I was wondering, what reel should I purchase. I have a budget up to 80$. Lakes I go to have a variety of fish and I'd be switching baits and try catching really anything that bites.

Is it a spinning rod, or a casting rod?
If spinning, get a Pflueger President spinning reel to match the rod.
OJ is correct, that will be the best choice in your budget.
I have owned a few GX2 and they are cheap. I have broken a couple of tips and the eyes come out and bend. But the rods are great until they come apart or break. I personally like the Walmart or Bi-Mart OptemX 4 for salmon and steelhead or trout. They are only $20 and the drags hold up and I haven't yet had any problems with them. I have owned two Penn 500's and two Okuma 4.0 that have lost the drags in a year. I repaired one Penn real and it still didn't work.
