Robert J Samples Loc: Round Rock, Texas

I have just received my hometown newspaper, The Saint Jo Tribune, the oldest newspaper in Montague County, Texas. It has been continually published since 1898~! If you don’t already know where Saint Jo is, you can look it up, or Google it. (First, find Wichita Falls, then follow State Highway 82 back east for about 70 miles.)

While the town is small and I didn’t live there, but rode a school bus about 15 miles in from the “now ghost town of Bulcher”!

I want to crow about is the Saint Jo 4-H team of Bailie and Brandon Nobile who won the State of Texas 4-H District 5 A virtual bass contest. The “Bass Bandits” fished every Saturday in April, recorded their best 5 fish each Saturday. The team was the Overall State Bass Tournament champions as well as District 3 champions with a combined total of 66.24 pounds.

I am sorry I cannot reproduce the pictures of these fine fishermen, but some of their catch looked to be almost as big as they are. Way to go. Bass Bandits!!!! Just Sayin…RJS
