I'm trying to put together a charter trip for October 12. We'll be staying in Destin for a week and I'm not to crazy about the beach so my deal on going with the wife and her two sisters is I get a charter trip. There'll be 4 of us looking for a 8 hour trip hoping to target Amber Jack and Grouper maybe Spanish Mackerel but will settle for whatever bites. Hoping someone on the site can refer my to a good Captain who will put us on some of our target fish.

All the charters are good ,but you have to go a long way out . The best thing to do is show up when the boats come in ,and talk to the capt. and find one you like and will fill your needs ,one person may like a Capt. and you may not. Always talk to the crew before you book a charter.Its a lot of money to spend on someone you don't enjoy being with.

I'm only gonna be there for five days and would like to book something before I get there, just to make sure we get a charter. I'm more interested in catching fish than if I like the captain, Hoping someone can suggest a Captain they have used in the past or know personally. The only guy I ever used was out of Orange Beach and he's dead now so I'm hoping for some help finding a boat.

Oh Ivey i am so envious of that trip you are about to take. My Air Force days in the 70's were well spent on those white sands. Some great crabbing and what little fishing i did it was fantastic. But its been 50 years i sure hope the area hasn't changed.

If I lived somewhere in middle or in the Eastern US I would be there with you all 5 days buddy. I hope you get it all set up and have time of your life.

Wish you could too Jeremy. I'll only get one day of fishing, the rest will be what the ladies want to do, I am going with 3 women so I'm outnumbered..

Yeah I know what you mean. I was just with 2 for the drive home from beach trip. During the last few days it was2 guys 3 ladies. Then earlier in trip there was one other guy but another lady.. then before that was my kids and their spouses with grandson. I’m home now. I made ceviche with rockfish and cooked salmon last night on cedar plank. Ready for a nap and a long nights sleep.
