What Am I Doing Wrong?

I am familiar with bass fishing, and I recently decided to try for some redfish, with literally no experience wade fishing or surf fishing. I have not caught a single fish yet other than a Hardhead Cat. What am I doing wrong? I'm using a Gulp Shrimp on a 1/8th oz Redfish Eye jighead. I've tried a popping cork to no avail. Any tips or ideas on where to find redfish and maybe actually catch one? Just feeling pretty dejected.

Well, red fish are a schooling fish. You have just been fishing were they arent, so you need to move or fish at a different time, or tide change. Red fish aren't finiky eaters, when they are feeding they do it with gusto, so there probably weren't any in the area you were casting to at the time. Just Sayin...RJS
