Well I finally got everything stripped out of my boat so I can inspect or replace the fuel tank. That included both consoles, with windshields. Live well, steering mechanism and of course all the carpet. Tomorrow I’ll drill out the rivets and lift the floor board exposing the tank. From what I can already see through the hole, I don’t think it is incased in foam, I hope 🤞…we’ll see tomorrow…🐟on

That's a lot of work Dave, shouldn't that be a Winter project? Hopefully it's only strapped in, or bolted down. Good luck, and I hope it's not a real expensive job.

Well,Fred it it is a bit of a job. But I’ve got more time than money. So it’s fix the one I have versus buying a newer one. I don’t have a place to get in out of the weather in the winter but I should have it back together in a couple of weeks 🤞. I think it is strapped or bolted. I can see it’s sitting in an aluminum coffin…😜on

Well,Plum. When I first started this project I was just going to take out the carpet any then paint the floor. And low and behold Danger had his incident with his tank. For the last few years I occasionally smell gas and have procrastinated looking into it. So with all the conversation about ticking time bombs with gas leaks I figured that being about half way having the carpet out I’d just go ahead and go all the way and inspect the tank check for leaks and replace all the hoses, clamps and fittings and replace the tank if needed. Piece of mind. It’s 30 years old and I really like it so I don’t have a problem fixing it and I’m able to do the work myself. I just might have to buy a few parts…🐟on

Wow DD if i was a neighbor i would be offering a hand or just nosey to see how it's done. Not that i ever would want to tackle such a project i just find it interesting that you are taking on something one just don't see done every day.

Kind of like the kid looking through the knot hole in the fence watching the high rise go up.

I hear ya on the getting out of the weather. Mine lives outdoors year round as well, which makes it a pain to work on. Well good luck tomorrow and keep us in the loop as to your findings.

wow what a project Dozer. Hopefully it's not the tank an maybe a hose with a small hole or leaking. Guess you'll find out how the floor a everything under there is. Might not be a bad idea to put some new closed cell foam in there. Good luck man 👍

We’ll, Plum I’d be honored to have you as a neighbor and would definitely take you up on your offer. I’ve always been one to take on challenges of this nature if I’m pretty curtain it’s something I can achieve. I can usually figure it out…🐟on
