Hi I'm out here in Welsh Louisiana fishing an I want to know how can I get the fish to start biting. Fishing for alligator gar, catfish . All I see is fish jumping around but not 1 bit.
Try a tiny torpedo or a jitterbug. When the fish hits, wait until you feel his weight on your line then set the hook.
Jumping fish sounds like schools of mullet. Tiny mouths rarely bite a hook, except things like dough balls. In that dark water you need a stinky bait to get fish biting. Take a crawfish or cut bait to catfish stink baits and throw some dough balls out too!
Ok sounds good but the alligator gar are the ones jumping
Break out an old bayou gig, sounds like frogging zone too!
