Fish the surf outside your hotel. Farther east down the beach are a series of rock protection levees placed to stop beach erosion. Try around those but they’re a little farther down the beach. Try artificial, Carolina rigged minnows or shrimp and popping corks with the same bait. Good luck.

Hey Fourchon. Are y’all getting all of this rain we are? We’re supposed to get two more weeks before it clears out, then we’ll probably get a hurricane. Just my luck. I put up a new wooden fence yesterday. My usual day...

Yes. It’s rained nearly every day. Thunderstorms mixed in. I wish it would head to the west coast where it’s needed.

I do too. We’ve had enough for everything West of us that’s dry and then some. I guess we’re lucky we don’t live on the West coast.

The water has been dirty from all the runoff and wave action. As the summer progresses it should clear up but it will be prime conditions for a storm. Water temperature is at 84 degrees.

I know. The rest of July and all of August and September will tell the tale. I’ll be praying for all of us to not have a hurricane and survive if we do.

Sure. That’s all we can do. It’s looking good right now in the Atlantic.

If we get a hurricane now there won't be a tree left standing with the ground saturated like it is, remember hurricane alicia Hack. It had rained for 2 to 3 wks before she hit. I've never seen that many downed trees before or since 😬

Yes Sir I remember Alicia. I was working all night at the plant and didn’t get home until the next day at 1500. My roof, fence, trees, and garage roof were gone. Julia headed to Brenham, but stopped at an ice house and called me. The phones were out but mine rang. She asked me if I was sure I wanted to stay. I thought about it but told her to come pick me up. It was 100 degrees and my roof was gone. I called the plant the next morning and told them I’d be back when the power came on. A week went by then a neighbor called and told us the power was back on. We went back home but the power was still out, except on his side of the street. I didn’t realize it then but this bird has been following me since...🤣😋

U need a shotgun with that fishing pole🤭😶
I lived in Deer Park then, we had minimal damage but every tree around was down, they just blew over.

Either in a minnow bucket that you can lay in the water while you’re fishing or a battery operated aerator and a 5 gallon bucket.
