Not a lot to report today. Had a good morning catching rock bass and a few perch big enough to clean. Went to the casino in Walker (on the Indian reservation) and they were kind enough to let me clear $950 on the slot machines. Went to the tackle shop but just couldn't pull the trigger on the St Croix rod I've been eying. Old stuff is still catching fish and I guess I'm just too tight to spend money on myself. Went out fishing tonight and caught my first muskie on a jitterbug. Made a date with her in 20 years when she grows up.

Did have a little excitement when nails pulled out of part of the walkway going to the dock! Fortunately no injuries and the handyman will be here in the morning to fix it. Looks like it was put together with 12D nails, not screws like it should have been. Just another memory to add to this eventful trip! Have a great day, angling friends! 😊

What a cute little spotted Muskie! I hope you do meet again in 20 years!
I presume you decided against the St Croix rod before you got the “refund” from the slots?
Nice looking bunch of fish, congrats! Enjoy the rest of your vacation and have a safe trip home!

Nice catch Farmer. Come on, YOU'RE not spending money on yourself, the CASINO is spending money on you.LOL
A live mouse, rubber banded to a frog hook, might attract a hawg Bass, or Muskie. Just say'in.
Glad it got better for you and the family.

Hey Iowa, set a trap, just could be a new bait on the loose there. Heck if snake works no tellin what a little mouse will yield.

Yeah, you would think so. We had mice in our old house but she never freaked out like she did last night. OCD kicked into overdrive.

The tackle shop was after the casino. Wandered around with the cash in my pocket but kept talking myself out of purchases. Walked out with a small bag of chartreuse twister tails, then bought the family ice cream. 🤷‍♂️

Found a trap in a back room, baited with peanut butter, but didn't catch him overnight. 😒
