What Size braided line is best on spinning reel?

Thinking of putting some braided line on one of. my spinning reels and wanted to put on the equivalent of a 20lb line. What's best?

20 # line is 20# line.
Do you mean in diameter?
You won't find braid the same diameter as 20# mono.
We use 30# braid for stripers out here.
I've got 8, 15 and 20 on some of my bass reels. 👍

A lot of these guys use Power Pro, but be sure to secure it to your spool by using 20yds of backing, or by taping it to the spool to keep it from spinning. You can also use more backing to conserve on the usage as 150yd spool of thin diameter braid does not fill up a spinning reel spool very well. Good luck!

I'm with you on that saw. I some times go to 20 since its so small.

On my 30 series spinning reel run 20 to 30 yards of Mono line as backing.
Then Quality 10lb Braid of any color. 10-15 feet of leader/tippet and whack'em..
Fish never see the color of the Braid line ya choose.

I use 30 braid and 12 lb Fluoro leader. Ojdidit is right about the backing. Braid can slip on your spool without it.

Hi Andy. How have you been brother?. My last twi water trips disappointing. When to mtn lake found it's still not filled. This morn i went to the Potomac river where it flows passed Harpers Ferry Wva. Found out they are still dealing with a large rock slide that occured at least a yr ago n idiots that didn't know how to park. The federal park service blocked every parking space on the Md. side of the river. I was going back ti my roots. Catfishing at the river. The place where i got my biggest catfish n carp n dam near drown one fine day while wading. Took best part of a hr to get there. The river looked beautiful n i knew where i was going to fish. At drowning rock. It was the boulder i was wading to when i went under. I think i said a bad word or two on the ride home LOL. Oh well it happens Y'all have a great day friend 👍👍🎣🎣🇺🇸🇺🇸

Glad to hear you're doing good. I do have some underpins. I tried it 1st time last trip. As dirty as the water was i caught one on a sq bill. I think its called hot tomato. Got some new ones call gliding jigs. I think they'll work well in clean water. Susquehanna where i fish is too low now. I'm sure we'd have a fun time brother. I'm not competitive when I'm fishing. I was in sports but fishing i do for pleasure. Wife says well you could fly. I say yep but where would my fishing gear get to. Have a nice eve Andy stay safe brother. 👍👍 If i get there you'll know 😁😁

I know what you mean about bass Andy. I planned on catfishing today but 2nd rod was set up for bass. You fish between bites. I just luv the hunt for bass. Guess i am competitive after all. I want to out play the fish. LOL
