Saw that the other day Audigger. I think North Carolina has stopped there flounder fishing all together. I could be wrong on that. I hardly catch flounder at all so it want effect me and I have a life time licence also. Hope it want stop the younger generation from fishing. Before long the xbox games will be cheaper then a fishing licence.

Woof! Here as an "older" fisherman it is $5 for me add $2 for Crabs as well. I get that as a driend of mine likes to go crabing as well as fishing and he has the boat. So he ends up with my crabs as well.

The money is one thing, but your bag limits are still more generous than ours.19" minimum,4 fish per person,5/4-9/30.
If you're fishing in a "Enhanced Opportunity shore fishing site "(mostly in low income areas) the minimum length is 17", with the same bag limits, and season.

Well, someone else can have my share of flounders. When you catch one, no matter how big, it is just like reeling in a wet towel, so why bother. I don't even like eating them, but prefer reds and trout. That is just a personal preference, so don't give my a hard time. Just Sayin...RJS

I’m 72 and the fishing license in California for everyone… $75 with tons of restrictions. No senior or veteran discounts. California will tax you and cheat you any way they can.

That’s crazy huh? Did that include the salmon, steelhead, sturgeon, halibut tag? When I was in Oregon I could, actually, buy a non resident fishing license from Washington cheaper than a resident license in Oregon. Have you checked into that? It covered everything but salmon, steelhead, sturgeon and halibut for $14.00 less than the same stuff in Oregon as a resident. Bad thing is I couldn’t fish the Oregon bank of the Columbia River that way but I could fish an inch off of it in my boat so I just did that. Fishing for squawfish takes me up on the middle Snake from June through September and that’s ALL in Washington, both sides of the river. That was the main reason I researched it. After that I just bought a Washington license cuz it covered me off the Oregon coast too.

If I am in Pacific Ocean well below state line it seems I would need Oregon license. I get Washington license some years too. I fish and crab in Nehalem too it’s in Oregon.

Yes it’s all the tags. Duel rod endorsement. License that also allows Shutupandfish to fish in boat. That is one more fee you know?
