I picked out a rod, (Ugly Stik GX2 Spinning Rod) which has fast action and medium power, and is 7 feet. I’m looking for reels but nothing is really standing out to me. Any suggestions would help. I’m planning on running a wacky rig with some googans, if that helps lol. Thanks!

Pflueger President series or Shimano Spinning reels highly recommended.
Pfluger President spinning reels 👍👍👍👍👍
For the money you can’t beat a Pflueger President.
I have two Pflueger spinning reels. They are hard to beat for the money. If I was buying another spinning reel it would be my choice

Here are the best by price in my opinion. I used a Pflueger President in saltwater for about 2 years and it did not last.

Shimano, Diawa, Pflueger are all decent spinning reels. My preference is Shimano, but they can be hard to find right now.

Diawa Tatula is a great reel and so are Shimano reels.
Shimano for me! I pretty much panfish. I’ve used a lot of different models. I started with the AX, CX and TX models with quick fire technology. I’m dating myself, I know. Then to Sidestab and now the Spirex! They have all been good to me. Good luck! 😁

When I started I had a cane pole 10’ long with Black Dacron fishing line pound test unknown,
extremely large Red and White plastic Bobber, I had a lead tire counter weight Crimped
On to the line, weight unknown and to finish up the fishing pole a Eagle 🦅 Claw hook size unknown..
I would hook up a gob of Night Crawlers or Craw Daddy’s with the pinchers pull off so they could now grab onto the rocks and brush that was in the creek and farm pond…..

Second chance for me to recommend the President today.
Don’t own one anymore. I fish high end Shimano , but the President is a solid dependable reel.
Now if you want the best imaginable and money is no object. Get a Stella
Pflueger reels are not sealed so they will not handle salt water. They are a fresh water reel and Presidents at ~ $50 are a good value.
Any of Fl. fishing products reels are great ,have the best drag system .Better than all the other name brands I have used. Lots of guides are changing from other brands to them .
